What's going on in class?
Math
Congrats your students have completed their first 9 weeks of middle school!! Along with finishing the 9 weeks they are very close to finishing the first module (unit) in 6th grade Math. Next week will begin interim testing for Math please make sure all students have their computers charged up! I have been proud of the transition the students have made this year. I am looking forward to another successful 9 weeks!! Have a great weekend!
Language Arts
Interim testing will begin next week in Language Arts. Please make sure ALL students bring their computers CHARGED and ready to go on Tuesday.
Nightly reading homework-
Studies have shown that reading just 20 minutes per day will expose students to over a million words per year. This will then likely improve school grades as well as increase state standardized test scores. Please check with your child be make sure they are doing their nightly reading homework and filling out the log that goes with it.
Science
Next week we will begin our Earth Science unit, so students will be bringing home their Water and the Atmosphere text books. Those should be kept at home and they will be issued new books for the next unit.
Social Studies
It’s hard to believe 9 weeks has already gone by! This week in social studies we continued learning about Ancient Egypt. We focused on the Geography of Egypt and the unification of the Upper and Lower Kingdoms of Egypt. Next week we will continue to learn about Ancient Egypt with a focus on the Pharaohs of Egypt and the mythology of Egypt. Grades for the first 9 weeks will be official next week. Have a great weekend!

Team Pictures
Thank you to those who have already donated games for Team Building Time in WINN. If you have unused playable games (new or used) or puzzles we would love to add more.
Please contact Mrs. Green
No Name Papers
We have had several no name papers turned in this year. If a student thinks they turned in an assignment but it shows missing in the grade book it is likely they didn't put a name on it. Please remind your child to always put their name, class, and hour on their papers.
