First grade character study using Ezra Jack Keats writing as mentor text. Students evaluated two of Keats' book characters and wrote stories detailing what would happen if those characters spent the day at FPG. Click here to see the digital product.

Advocacy and Outreach

The following presentation was shared with the Chapel Hill Carrboro School Board in the spring of 2011 to advocate for full-time media assistants to support effective library programing at the elementary level. I created the presentation and also spoke at the board meeting on behalf of the elementary librarians in the district.
