Should We Prepare?
It is believed that a major event like the magnitude 7 or 8 quakes that shook New Madrid in 1811 is due to hit every 200 years. Which according to calculations New Madrid could experience an earth quake at any moment, and could potentially effect us here.
History
With the fault line stretching nearly 150 miles is projected to produce a 8.0 magnitude or greater earthquake and the zone had four of the largest North American earthquakes in recorded history being able to be felt over 350 miles away and has produced more than 4000 quakes since 1974 most of them unable to be felt and only felt by scientific tools.
