Loma Ridge Report

A Weekly Newsletter From Mrs. Berumen

Our School Choice Window is Now Open

School Choice applications can now be found on our website. The School Choice application allows parents to identify if they would like their child to attend a school other than their neighborhood school. The deadline for submitting a request is February 26, 2020 at noon. If your child is already at Loma on school choice you DO NOT need to complete a new application. If you have any questions about the process, please call our office at 949-404-1400.

Friendly Reminder - No distribution of food or non-food items

We know it's fun for our students to celebrate special events in their lives with their classmates. We encourage you to review the policy from our parent/student handbook by clicking here. As a reminder, we cannot allow students to bring food items for their individual special events. Unfortunately this year, due to COVID-19, we cannot have students distributing non-food items either. One good option for celebrating a birthday is to send in a new book donation for the class library. Your child's teacher can make sharing that book a special celebratory experience for your child.

If that's the case, please consider donating to our winter clothing drive next week! It's a great opportunity to join us in helping families in need during these difficult times. We will be accepting gently used clothing items and shoes for men, women and children as well as new, disposable diapers. All donations will go to the Orange County Rescue Mission.

WHEN: January 11th-15th (IVA families- Please drop-off before 8:00 am or after 3:00 pm)
HOW: Please send your bag(s) of clothing and/or diapers with your student in the morning and he/she can place the items in the bins provided at the front of the school.
