Balancing Curriculum for Wales
How we'll support schools to implement Curriculum for Wales
Our plans for resources & support during the draft phase
We have had some very long days this week working hard to analyse and understand the school and classroom implications of the draft Curriculum for Wales documents. We're sure many teachers and leaders across Wales have been doing the same. We wanted to share with you, our plans for how we will support schools to understand, feedback on and implement the new curriculum.
We believe in impact, so, we intend to create tools and templates to help teachers, who are short on time, to access the detail of the curriculum draft in a meaningful way. Our focus will be on helping all teachers, no matter what their context, to trial elements of the curriculum in their classroom to enable that deep understanding. To get this started we will be creating a programme of support and collection of resources specifically for this purpose. We will also be identifying key research that will support this work.
We believe it is more important to be right, than to be first, so we won't be rushing to publish this support, but ensuring it is available in time for staff to engage fully.
