Norwood Field Day 2022

Field Day activities are back and will be held on Friday, June 3rd. Because there will be many outdoor activities that involve running and other active movements, ensure that your child wears sneakers, brings a bottle of water, and applies sunscreen prior to coming to school. A letter already went home from Mr. Ketterer, the school's Physical Education teacher, assigning a specific color to your child. To help with the day's activities, have your child wear clothing of mostly that color. Parents are welcome to come and watch the activities, but no school-aged siblings are allowed. The schedule for Field Day is as follows:

AM-PK, Kindergarten & 1st grade: 8:45am to 11:00am

PM-PK, 2nd & 3rd grade will be from 12:30pm to 2:45pm

If you have any questions feel free to email Mr. Ketterer at or call the school at (443)809-7055.

FINAL Coffee & Conversation session for 2021-2022

Thank you to all who came out to our May Coffee & Conversation session! We had a guest speaker who serves on two local PTAs to help discuss how easy and flexible it can be to run your own school PTA here at Norwood. If anyone is interested in helping to get Norwood's PTA off the ground, please contact Mr. Jeremiah (667-251-4985; We also unveiled a new Parent Resource Hub, which is a collection of frequently asked questions and sought after resources from our Norwood families, all gathered together in one spot. It can be found on the Norwood school website under the 'For Parents' top-menu, or by clicking here.

Our next session, which will also be the final session for the 2021-2022 school year, will be on June 14th, in-person at the Norwood cafeteria, from 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Appropriately, it will discuss tips on how to keep your students academically engaged through fun and interesting activities during the summer break. Hope to see you there!

May Special Message from the School Nurse

Vision and hearing screening results were sent home for students who were screened. If the student did not pass either screening, the parent/guardian needs to make an appointment with the child’s medical provider. The medical provider will complete the bottom of the form and the form must be returned to the school nurse. If you need another copy of the vision/hearing screening results, please contact Nurse Debbie at

We are required to have a physical on file for all students. We only need updated copies if there is a change in health status or treatment for a medical condition. We need one dental form filled out for each student as well. If there are any new vaccinations given, we should receive a copy detailing what they were.

For the spring, we highly recommend students keep a change of clothes in their locker. We have a few clothing items here, but we cannot supply all sizes for all the students when clothes are wet or muddy from outdoor recess or spills. Please feel free to send in any unwanted or unused clothing items or shoes. Whatever we can't use we will donate.
