Free Breakfast and Lunch Program
We are excited to announce that ALL students are eligible for free breakfast and lunch through June 2021. We are encouraging ALL students to take advantage of this benefit as this greatly helps our cafeteria.
In addition to these meals being free while they are in school on their hybrid days, we will continue to have meals available for pickup on Wednesdays from 10 am – 2 pm. These meals will also be free for all students. The meals can be picked up outside the Cafeteria, by Door 14. There will be a sign indicating where to wait. We ask that everyone please stay in your car as the meals will be brought out to you. Students that are all remote will be able to pick up 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches each Wednesday. All other students participating in the hybrid option will be able to pick up 3 breakfasts and 3 lunches.

Staying Healthy and Active
Virtual and At-Home Learning
As many schools are utilizing a hybrid schedule to start the new school year, it becomes increasingly important to continue to check in on your students' physical and emotional well-being.
Engaging in physical activity has been shown to have numerous benefits that are not just limited to physical health, but also impacting social-emotional and academic acuity.
Visit the link below for tips and suggestions to keep your students engaged during the remote learning days.
All Pre-K students need proof of a flu shot sent to the nurse before Wednesday, December 23, 2020 or they will not be able to return to school on January 4, 2021.
No medication of any kind including over the counter drugs can be dispensed at the school without a Dr.'s prescription. All medication must be brought to school by a parent. Parents must sign a permission form before medicine can be dispensed.
Any new/changed health related information, especially medications should be reported to the Nurse.
Please forward all updated vaccination records and/or physicals ASAP to Nurse Smith. Even if you are 100% remote/Cohort C you still need proof of vaccinations and physicals as per the State of NJ.
Parent Portal COVID 19 screening tool, must be done the morning your child/ren are scheduled to come to school. If you do not complete the screening tool, a notification will be sent home.
Please keep your child home if they are not feeling well or are not themselves. Please contact the Nurse if you are unsure if your child should come to school.

Dear Folsom Parents,
It is once again that time of year for Folsom School’s Annual Food Drive, coordinated with the help of our School Council. All food collected will be organized into baskets and given to families in our own community that find themselves in need this holiday season. The Folsom School Food Drive has been able to help a number of families throughout the past several years, and we are hoping to do that again this year.
Please use the chart below and consider having your child bring in the appropriate food item. Students may begin to bring in food items on Monday, November 9th. All food items must be in by Friday, December 11, 2020. We hope to make this Food Drive another great success!
If you or someone you know is interested in donating a turkey, a gift card or a monetary donation, or you know someone in need of a holiday basket; please contact Carlie Grouser, Folsom School Social Worker at (609) 561-8666 ext. 171.

Dear Parents and/or Guardians:
Folsom Elementary School is preparing for the holiday season with our third annual community “Giving Tree.” The Folsom “Giving Tree” is a community service project which allows our students to understand the importance of giving back to our community. These are challenging times as many of our students come from families and communities hit hard by financial hardships and/or unexpected illnesses.
The “Giving Tree” leaves will be available virtually as of November 4th. Each leaf will contain the gender, age and size of a child in need from the Folsom Community. A leaf may also include a specific item to purchase. There will be no names or personal identifiers on the paper leaves. Folsom understands the importance of confidentiality and takes great strides to protect the privacy of our families. Please email APetersen@folsomschool.org if you’d like to donate or fill out the form below and send back.
Once you have finished shopping for your “leaf”, please return the unwrapped gift(s) with your name attached. Gifts should arrive at the main office by Friday, December 11th for a timely distribution before the Christmas holiday.
For each leaf and gift returned by your family, a snowflake will be hung on the wall as a representation of giving during this holiday season. Monetary donations and gift cards are accepted and are helpful to fulfill the wishes of older students. Thank you for your generosity during the season of giving. It is our hope to have an entire wall of snowflakes by Christmas.
Thank you for your support and participation in this community project.
