Affirmations
A big thank you to all team members at Crockett who implement CKH with fidelity on campus. It is because your dedication and hard work that we have been nominated as a 2019-20 National Showcase Campus for the second year in a row!
Shoutout to Mrs. Gooden! She is a phenomenal teacher who has overcome many challenges this school year. She has shown so much grace and willingness to learn new strategies to assist all of the students in her class. She always comes to work with a positive attitude and starts off fresh every day! Thank you, Mrs. Gooden for all you’ve done this year!! From Mrs. Gaines
Thanks to Mrs. Meredith for her tenacity as she works hard daily to build relationships with her students and maintains a positive attitude. We appreciate all that you do.
Thank you to Mrs. Minotti for coordinating a successful week of Dunkin' with Dads! and also to the admin team for ensuring everyone was safe while we hosted a lot of visitors on our campus!
Shout out to Mrs. Reyes for helping coordinate male volunteers to come to Dunkin' with Dads and providing an opportunity for some of our Cubs to interact with a positive male role model, I appreciate everything you do for our Cubs!
Capturing Kids' Hearts
Have you been practicing your SOLER listening skills?
The Chinese symbol for the word “listen” involves characters for “ears, eyes, heart, you, and undivided attention”. To listen effectively to another person, you must “listen with your ears, eyes, and heart with your undivided attention”. Sometimes we want to convey that we are listening, but we may not know how to show the other person that we are doing that.
S= Square up to the person you are listening to
O= Open posture
L= Lean in
E= Eye contact
R= Relax and Respond
