Master Plan Sixth-Grade Talking Points
Below are talking points to help Board members answer questions regarding sixth grade.
- The updates planned for Framework Phase I at the three elementary schools (Clive, Crestview, and Western Hills) are important renovations that align directly with the facilities master plan process. These updates can be done without moving sixth-grade out of the buildings.
- Elementary schools with renovations dependent on sixth-grade moving to a middle school model are not yet scheduled.
- Any decisions connected to the middle school plans are part of future phases. Implementation of future master plan phases will heavily rely on funding from the anticipated extension of the one-cent sales tax (SAVE) program which requires legislative approval.
- WDMCS administration will continue facilities master planning throughout the 2018-19 school year.
- If the one-cent sales tax (SAVE) program is approved by the Legislature, the Board will then determine the order and timing of the remaining renovations throughout the district.
