Technology Corner
STAFF LAPTOP AND DESKTOP PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE – If you are running into issues of sluggish behavior, loss of wireless connectivity, or the staff calendar is not updated, the first thing you should do is completely shut down and restart your workstation. DOT is constantly sending out updates and patches; allowing the laptop or desktop to go through proper power cycling procedures for installation and refreshing will extend the life of the asset, and will keep things from getting bogged down. A good rule of thumb is to completely shut down and restart your laptop or desktop at least twice a week. DO NOT JUST CLOSE THE LID OF YOUR LAPTOP, this puts the machine into a hibernation mode, and is not a true shutdown/restart.
TAKE OUR DAUGHTERS AND SONS TO WORK DAY
1. The absence will be excused with appropriate documentation such as a note from the parent.
2. If a child is brought to the school workplace, the child’s presence must not be a disruption to the educational environment. Therefore, the recommended age range for participants is 8-18 years of age.
Please let an administrator know in advance if you plan to bring your son or daughter to work with you on this day.
