The Linne Roar
January 17th, 2019
Updates and Reminders:
- February 1st is designated as a Professional Development Day for staff. As part of our agreement to provide preparation time (per CTU) for our teachers, this day will be fully teacher-directed. ESPs will have an agenda for the day.
- Please have students sign in and out for restroom use and remember to monitor how long they have been out of your classroom. On Wednesday the fire department was called to Linne due to a triggered alarm near the Art Studio. According to the Fire Marshall, it was not a mechanical malfunction, it was pulled by a person (student perhaps?). Enrichment teachers in the South Basement, please do not allow students to leave your classrooms unless it is an emergency (and then only in pairs). Teachers, please make sure that your students have an opportunity to use the restroom before their enrichment class.
- Benefit Days--Please refer to your Staff Handbook for procedures for requesting benefit time. If you have any questions, see me:)
- Grade Level meetings for January are today (the 17th) and the 31st. February dates are the 14th and 28th. Grade Level dates for the remainder of the year can be found in the Staff Handbook.
Girl Scout Cookies
Did you know that Linne School hosts a Girl Scout group? They are selling cookies! An order form is available in the Main Office near the swipe. Gina has an envelope for $$$.
Just Ask Jes
The asthma van would like to re-survey the school. Handouts will be going out to all classrooms. Please encourage students to get the forms filled out and bring back to school. The room with the highest percentage will get a pizza party!!!!
Clerk's Corner
Please, please, please make sure that you are turning any field trip money into the office in a timely manner.
Check Kronos before you leave on Friday--it's the last day of the payroll period!
Counselor's Couch
If you are experiencing any tech issues during NWEA testing, reach out to me (Aleks) for help.
Continue trying the Everyday SEL activities that we are focusing on this month. Just a reminder that we will be debriefing during Grade Levels on the 31st.
Make sure that you spend some time revisiting your classroom expectations. Reinforce! These are the "dog days" of the school year where we typically see an uptick in misbehaviors.
