Baseball AREA Champions
Area Playoffs
The Varsity Baseball team traveled to Wimberley to take on the Harlandale Indians Saturday in a one game winner take all series. The Panthers came away as the Area Champions. It was a battle throughout. The Indians took a lead into the bottom of the seventh 7-5. Tannor Bippert was hit by a pitch. Garrett Leggitt added a single, and then Dylan Fillinger finished it off with a hit then two Harlandale throwing errors allowed Dylan to score the walkoff.
Pitching was led by Mason Doyon, Jared Laque, and getting the win was JJ Marty.
STATE Track Meet
Softball
Regional Quarterfinal
Panther softball competed for the Regional Quarterfinal round in playoffs vs Seguin. The panthers fought hard in game 1 but fell short of a victory 3-4. The Panthers bounced back on Saturday gaining the victory 7-2 over the Matadors in game 2. Pushing the series into game 3. The Panthers left it all on the field but despite the effort were not able to clinch the “W” in game 3, score 3-6.
Season Recap
The Panthers ended the season as District Champions (16-1) and Regional Quarterfinal finalists with a tremendous record of 34-4.

MVHS Model Citizens of the Week
MVHS Model Citizens of the Week are nominated by students and staff. Selection criteria is based on the American Citizenship Awards for students who:
- Participate in school and/or community service
- Show a positive attitude toward classmates, school, and the community
- Display an understanding and appreciation of civic responsibility
- Possess strength of character and the courage to do what is right
- Promote citizenship with their school or community through other activities
The American Citizenship Awards criteria are endorsed by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.

Course Selections
The Counseling Center has visited with all 9th, 10th, and 11th grade classes. We are currently working to meet with the students who were absent or involved in extracurricular activities and missed the meetings. Please take the time to log in to you parent Skyward account to look over their course selections for next year and approve their 4-year plan. Please contact your student’s counselor with any questions or concerns.

Southwest Texas Junior College Orientation
SWTJC Orientation at MVHS is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, April 30 from 9-11 a.m. This orientation is a requirement for all new/incoming dual credit students. This will be the only orientation offered at MVHS. If a student cannot attend they will have to attend an orientation offered at a different location.

Please continue to check the Counseling Center Scholarship lists for updates and new scholarships being offered, several were added this week. Be aware that many scholarships have approaching deadlines. Please contact Mrs. Lozano in the Counseling Center with any questions.
