Support Nepal Earthquake Relief: May 11-15

Lowell will be supporting Nepal Earthquake relief through cash donations the week of May 11-15. We feel very connected to this disaster as we have so many Nepali children at Lowell and in our local community. Students can bring cash donations to their classroom teacher Monday through Friday of next week; donations will be sent to UNICEF at the end of the week. We will be graphing our results each day on a thermometer in the main hallway.

We appreciate your support!

Happy Mother's Day to all of our Lowell moms!

As a parent, if you have feedback on the type of learning environment that best suits your child, please feel free to send that to kathleen.melton@cusd200.org. Please send any information to Mrs. Melton by Friday, May 15.

The Green Corner: The Lincoln Marsh

Now that some lovely spring weather has arrived, Wheaton's own Lincoln Marsh invites you to visit. They are hosting an Open House on Saturday, May 16th, from 9am to 1pm, featuring adventure walks, geocaching, scavenger hunts, and more. This area is an invaluable resource for Wheaton residents who seek to enhance their appreciation and involvement in the natural world. Check it out!

Thank you to the many people who helped make the 2015 Lowell 5k a success!

Together we raised over $3000 for the American Cancer Society! It was great to see all the families running and walking together, watching friends give each other high fives as they crossed the finish line, witnessing some of the younger students at Lowell completing their first ever 5k and seeing how proud they were as they received their medal. Everyone should feel a sense of accomplishment not only for participating in the run, but also for making a difference in the lives of those with cancer.

Next years 5k is already in the early planning stages and we are looking for a few people to join us and create a 5k race committee. If you are interested in joining our team please contact Kelly Nielsen at kdnoe2002@yahoo.com.
