Notes for a new week...

A Word of Thanks...
Three years ago, I asked you to trust me and to focus on one word - "relationships". We agreed at that time that by placing our emphasis on people, we would make strides in campus culture and in academic achievement. We have done it. YOU have done it.
Preliminary Accountability Ratings are in...and they are breathtaking. I sat in stunned silence, grinning at all you have accomplished. We do not have our final reports or distinctions at this time, but I can tell you that the information we have received will make you even more proud to be a Central Pirate! We officially "Met Standard" and unofficially ROCKED IT! :) As more information becomes available in the middle of September, we are going to celebrate your accomplishments BIG TIME!
Here's a quick rundown of what we do know at this time:
Index 1 - Student Achievement
Index Score (Target): 60
Central Score: 89
Index 2 - Student Progress
Index Score (Target): 32
Central Score: 49 (HIGHEST IN THE DISTRICT!)
Index 3 - Closing Performance Gaps
Index Score (Target): 28
Central Score: 47
Index 4 - Postsecondary Readiness
Index Score (Target): 12
Central Score: 53
Thank you for loving on kids and for making an impact that will last forever. Our students want to work hard for you because they know that you believe in them and that you are devoted to their success.
I simply cannot wait to see what successes this year holds for our students! It is an honor to work alongside you in the greatest elementary in the State of Texas!
Love you all!

All staff members are released to leave campus at 2:00 unless they have a prior commitment. This should give you ample time to take care of necessary errands or tasks off-campus, change clothes, and get back up to school for dinner! Don't forget, we are providing Dion's for our employees and their children beginning at 4:30. We will set up the food in the workroom. You can go through the line and either join our Central family for dinner in the workroom or take your plate back to your classroom with you if you've got some "finishing touches" to make. A huge shout-out to Patty for coordinating this meal!
If you do not have an assignment for Thursday night, fear not! We need your help! We want to make sure we have staff available to answer questions and assist families with locating their new classes, learning more about our campus, and feeling welcome at Central! We will be recruiting for these important roles soon - be watching your Inbox for details!
