Creating An Account

What is GA College 411?

GA College 411 is an online career guidance website that allows you to search for careers, plan your high school courses based on your career, search for colleges, financial aid, scholarships, etc. It is the one-stop shop for students preparing for their future after high school.


  1. Open the Internet Browser
  2. Type or Google "GACollege411"
  3. Upon entering the website, click Create an Account in the top right corner
  4. Click on “Go” for Middle School or Junior High Student
  5. Enter in your Date of Birth
  6. On the same page click on “Find”
  7. When new page opens, type “Lowndes Middle School, then click “GO”.
  8. Once the school name pops up, click on “Lowndes Middle School”, then “Continue”
  9. Once the page pops up, Click “Next”

Creating your Account

In the online application, enter in the following:

  1. First Name (Capitalize the first letter)
  2. Last Name (Capitalize the first letter)
  3. Select Year of Graduation from pull down menu (20xx)
  4. If you have an email address, enter it or click box under email address if you don’t have one
  5. Account name: (Lunch Number, Last Name) Example: 91234dixon
  6. Password: Vikings (Capitalize)
  7. Enter a Personal Question & Answer the personal question (Something that will never change)
  8. Put in home address (if you don’t know it, put: 2379 Copeland Road, Valdosta, 31601)
  9. Skip all “Optional” questions
  10. Answer the question "How did you hear about our website?" with “Found out through school counselor”
  11. Check “yes” or “no” for additional information
  12. Check box for privacy policies
  13. Click “Done”
  14. Write your username and password down (you can access this from home)

Next Steps

  1. At the top of the screen, click Career Planning Tab
  2. Click on “Learn About Yourself”
  3. Click the “Career Key”
  4. Click “Get Started”
  5. Follow the directions and check boxes that apply
  6. View at least one career on your list, then save information by clicking on “Add to Portfolio”
