A Message From Dr. Flowers- Principal
Dear Families,
I hope this message finds you well. As we come to the end of the week celebrating Autism Acceptance, I wanted to thank everyone who participated in the daily activities.
To cap off our week of festivities, we held our third nine weeks awards assembly! Our students continue to demonstrate impressive dedication and academic excellence, and it is truly inspiring to see them recognized for their hard work.
As a friendly reminder, our school's spring break will begin tomorrow, Friday, April 7th, and classes will resume on Monday, April 17th. I hope you all take advantage of this opportunity to rest, recharge, and enjoy some quality time with loved ones.
Thank you for your continued support and participation in our school community. I wish you all a wonderful and rejuvenating break!
Warm regards,
Barb Flowers

P.E.NEWS!
Starting Monday, April 17th all kindergarten and first grade students will be participating in an all new strider bike unit! The strider bikes are specifically designed for young students to learn how to balance while using their feet to push themselves along. Once students are comfortable with their balancing skills, pedals can be added to the bikes so they can experience a more traditional biking experience. If your student has a bike helmet at home please send it to school with them before April 17th. They can store the helmet in their classroom until the bike unit is over. If your student does not have a helmet to bring in, I will have some that they may use.

COUNSELORS CORNER!
Hello Brimfield Families!
Building confidence in our students is important. Whether your child is full of confidence or seems to be in constant self-doubt, there are things we can be doing every day to help build those feelings of confidence. Here are some ideas for families to incorporate ideas on how to build confidence. One way to help children build confidence is by encouraging them to learn and try new things. Whether it is a new sport or activity, trying something new can help students gain the confidence to continue to grow and adapt to new environments. Although they may struggle at first, once they accomplish their goals, they will feel capable and competent. Similarly, giving your child age-appropriate responsibilities, like taking care of their things, taking care of a pet, etc. can help your child feel like they can contribute to making the world a better place. Like any skill or habit you want your child to pick up on, it’s important to model positive self-esteem. Children are always watching. When you turn your mistakes into opportunities to learn, use positive self-talk, or accomplish new things, your child will feel empowered to do the same.
If you have any concerns please feel free to contact me!

PBIS CORNER
What is PBIS?
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports is an important part of the school environment to encourage positive behavior. There are clear expectations throughout the school that are taught consistently throughout the year. The four expectations promoted at Field Local Schools are:
Safe
Outstanding
Accountable
Respectful
When students do not respond to teaching of the building or classroom expectations, we will view it as an opportunity for re-teaching, not just negative consequences. Students still receive consequences for negative behavior. The goal of the consequence is to teach students so they will not repeat the negative behavior.
