Beginners Course BCU 1 Star 25th April

Entry level qualification to the sport of Kayaking The emphasis of the course is on safe practice, fun and enjoyment. You will achieve a nationally recognized qualification. Suitable for both adults and youth. 4 places left.

Improvers Course BCU 2 Star 18-19th April

The course is aimed at paddlers with previous experience above the BCU One Star level. The course will give you a good grounding in the basic techniques (both kayak & canoe). Course Content: Theory & Safety considerations, Equipment, Boat Handling, Supports & Braces, Rescues, Action Plan & Review. 2 places left

Foundation, Safety and Rescue Training Course 26th April

The course aims to provide the participant with the key safety and rescue skills required to operate safely in a sheltered water environment and to be able to deal with common emergencies.These skills will then form the basis of all safety and rescue training throughout the British Canoe Union Scheme. 4 places left

BCU/UKCC Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Paddle Sport 9-10 & 18-17 May

The Level 1 Training and Assessment course is open to boat based and bank based coaches alike, and in any discipline of paddlesport, recreational or competitive. Three days will be spent developing your coaching practice before the Level 1 Assessment on the last day. We will cover all aspects of assisting coaching sessions for paddlers, focusing particularly on the basic coaching principles, session organisation, health and safety, equipment and safety and rescue. All the sessions will be run in a practical format allowing plenty of time to put into practice the above principles in a context that is relevant to you. 5 places left
