Dear Trailblazer Families,
Dear Trailblazer Families,
Thank you~JoeAnna Hernandez~Principal
What is Gratitude?
Gratitude means feeling thankful and appreciated for what you already have. By recognizing what we are grateful for, we can multiply our happiness and well being. In some ways, it's just common sense. By focusing on the positive things in your life, you end up feeling better. Gratitude isn't just being thankful for the big things in your life, though. It's about, learning to notice all the little things that happen that you can be happy about, too.

Ways to Cultivate Gratitude~
Thank You Notes
A quick way to show gratitude is by writing a thank you note and giving it to someone you're thankful for. For example" I am thankful for you because..."
Gratitude Journal
A journal can be anything you use to write down things about your life. If you already have a journal, jot down a few bullet points and write what you are thankful for in your life. Teaching your children this skill will help your family cultivate gratitude.
Gratitude A-Z
Make a list of things you are grateful for A-Z. For example, T is for Teachers because they are working really hard to help our students during this difficult time.
Care Solace~
I know that many families may be experiencing stress and anxiety during this pandemic and we at Tony Tobin and TVUSD do not want to add to any of those feelings you may be having. If you are in need of support for your family, please do not hesitate to reach out to Care Solace at weserve@caresolace.org or 888-515-0595. Care Solace is a care concierge service that is a simple and fast tool and is available to all TVUSD families and provides drug and mental health help.
Reopening of Schools~ Updated Information from TVUSD
- Riverside County remains in the purple tier and the COVID-19 case and positivity rate is trending upwards.
- TVUSD will not meet the November 30 for elementary because we have not transitioned back into the red tier for the required time frame. In all probability, elementary will now be looking at a January date based on current trends and data. We will most likely be finishing the current, regular semester as scheduled.
- TVUSD will apply for the elementary waiver. TVUSD will not place a date on the application as other districts are also not planning to do. This recommendation respects the science (as we will follow the trends), respects parents by giving them a choice, and respects teachers and staff by continuing to work with them negotiating the effects, and developing comfort with plans. If the elementary waiver is approved, the Board will still engage in discussions regarding the potential timing of implementing it and the status of COVID-19 trends within our county.
