Bad Weather Make-Up Plan
Due to inclement weather Keller ISD canceled classes February 23-24. February 23 will be made up on Monday, April 6, 2015. April 6 was originally designated a District Holiday/Bad Weather Make-Up Day on the 2014-15 KISD Instructional Calendar. With the cancellation of classes Monday, February 23, that April 6 date will now be a regular school/work day.
KISD's other built-in Bad Weather Make-Up Day for the 2014-15 school year was February 16. However, a District Holiday was observed that day as it occurred prior to the late February winter storms. District administrators are currently exploring options for how and when the second missed instructional/work day might be made up. Once that information is confirmed, it will be posted on KellerISD.net and shared with all students, parents, and employees.
Additionally, on Friday, February 27, employees were released early due to inclement weather. The scheduled work time for employees from the time they were released from work on February 27 through the end of their regularly scheduled work day will be designated by the district as compensable time. Non-exempt employees will not be docked for time they were released through the end of their work day.
Heart at Work!
- Kourtney McCollough, Kelly Cerny, Natalie Hodges, Susan Sheffield, & Steve Vanderark...You've got heart! The co-curr team is an integral part of our staff! They are so supportive of the classroom teachers and each other. They provide countless learning opportunities that are above and beyond their objectives. They make BPE a great place to be! Special thanks to them for helping out at the Book Fair during Open House. They are my superheroes!
- Leslie Smith...You've got heart! Leslie is my un-official junior librarian! She is always willing to help out in the library whether it be with checking in/out books, helping with reading bingo, or working at the book fair. She even taught my lesson to two classes when I was at a meeting and my sub was pulled! Reading is definitely one of her superpowers!
2015 Early Resignation Notice Incentive/Perfect Attendance Incentive
In order to assist campuses with planning for the 2015-16 school year, Keller ISD is again offering an Early Resignation Notification Incentive of $750 to the first 100 teachers and other professional instructional staff such as counselors, librarians, diagnosticians, LSSP, nurses, etc. who submit a resignation/retirement letter to their campus principal by March 18, 2015. This early notification will help principals determine staffing and recruitment needs for next year. In addition, teachers who submit their letter by March 18, 2015 will receive an additional $250 for perfect attendance from April 1 through the end of the school year. To be eligible, the employee must be on a probationary, term or continuing contract. This information is in DWW on February 25th. In order to coordinate this well, principals, you need to ensure that you note a "received by" date on each resignation you receive and scan it to:
