Box Tops... Box Tops... Calling All Box Tops!
It is that time of the year when cookie exchanges occur, so bakers be sure to check ingredients for Box Tops! Every Box Top counts!
Don't forget to send in your Ziploc bag full of Box Tops by WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 17th!
Whooo hoooo! We Earned Our Classroom Reward!
A few quick things about this week...
No Reading Journals due next week!
*A great website to visit to practice inferring skills is "Into the Book." Students can create their own usernames (I recommend they write them down!), and practice their reading strategies and skills with various games to play.
Writing & Spelling
My Heritage PowerPoints - Please be sure your child has their most recent saved file on their flash drive for their presentations. Students are hopefully practicing their presentations... Remember, practice makes perfect!
Students should be writing at home 2+ times per week in their Writer's Notebooks. All "at home" entries should be dated and marked with an (H) to clearly identify an "at home" entry. Remember... the more they write, the better writers they will become!
Spelling Homework - NONE!
*Each week's spelling list will be posted on our class website!
We will be continuing Unit #5 - Big Numbers, Estimation, and Computation on Wednesday. This unit includes the multiplication of multi-digit numbers, so I encourage your child to practice their math facts in order to build on their knowledge of their basic facts!
Students should be reviewing their math facts through the use of xtraMath (www.xtramath.org) in order to reach mastery of all functions! I would expect all students to have passed addition AND subtraction at this point in the year!
