Thursday was the 100th Day of School. We are officially on our way to becoming 2nd graders. Only 80 days of First Grade left!! Wow!

Digital Dash - GO Baldwin's Bucking Broncos!!

Everyone had a great time at the Digital Dash! A great big THANK YOU to all the parents who helped to get our class ready (t-shirts, blue hair, etc.) AND who helped tally as we ran. Check out our pictures below. I hope we raised lots of money for our wonderful Discovery Labs.

Class T-Shirts

Please wash and keep your child's Baldwin's Bucking Bronco t-shirt. We will wear them again for the Legoland Field Trip in March and for Field Day in June. Thanks!

President Reports Due Friday, February 12th

Don't forget: Students will be presenting their President Reports on Friday, February 12th. Please help your child research and complete the questions sent home last Friday. (Let me know if you need a new copy.) Remember to keep the answers simple and child-friendly. Once the questions have been answered, have your child practice reading the sentences aloud in front of you. Make sure s/he can read every word and date without help. No memorization necessary!

Students may enhance their oral reports by bringing in photos of the president, making a poster, or dressing up. However, this is completely optional! This is most student's first oral report and we want to make it a low-key and enjoyable as possible. Thanks for your help with this hopefully fun assignment.

Below are listed a couple of safe websites for research:

Fun Facts on the U.S. Presidents for Kids

Biographies of U.S. Presidents

Valentine's Exchange on Friday, February 12th

Just a reminder: We will be having a Valentine's Exchange on Friday, February 12th. (This is not a party, so we will not need volunteers.) Students can make or purchase valentines to pass out to their classmates. Students should address each Valentine with a classmate's name. Below is a list of all the students in our class so no one is forgotten. (Let me know if you need a printed copy.) We will decorate a Valentine bag at school to hold all our Valentines and to carry them home. In accordance with our school wellness policy, please do not attached candy or any other edible item in the Valentines.
