Farewell Fifth Graders
Written By: Eli Briggs, Alaina Ivy
On Tuesday, May 24th, Central Elementary School will say "farewell and good luck" to our fifth grade students as they move on to the middle school for their next school adventure. They were born in 2010/2011, started kindergarten in 2016, spent approximately 1,080 days as an elementary student, were 3rd graders when Covid shut schools down, and have now made it to the end of their elementary school journey. They have worked hard, played hard, and had a lot of fun and memories along the way. Read the messages below from some of the Central Elementary staff as we wish them all the best!

The History of Field Day
Written By: Londyn Block, Elliot Watson
Have you ever wondered how field day started? Well, you’re in the right place! Today you will learn about the history of field day. Field Day is a special day for everyone in school. It’s a day where kids can play games and just be kids. Field Day actually began with the London military a long time ago, in the early 1700s. It had to do with activities that the military completed in a field. By the 1800s, it was known as a day of fun. The day included activities, games, dancing, picnics, and more all taking place in a field. Who knew? Central’s Field Day will be on Friday, May 20th. Have a great day of fun and activity Central CHAMPS!
