Welcome to Team Bond
May Your 5th Grade Year Be the Best Yet!
Meet Mrs. Bond...or Catch Up with Mrs. Bond!
I live in Brighton, MI with my husband, Brandon, and my 2 children, Carson and Katelyn. Carson will be in the 5th grade this year too! If you had a child in Mrs. Steele's class, you may remember that he was a student here at Glengary that year. Katelyn will be in 3rd grade this year, so I will be able to have a slight connection to the grade that had my heart for years! My husband will be staying busy this year preparing for a new business we are opening up in the spring, Ore Creek Craft Cider. It will be an exciting year for the entire Bond family!
I have continued sharing my passion for children, creativity, innovation, and technology by presenting at conferences this summer and running camps. I was able to present at conferences in Philadelphia, Saugautuck, Oakland Schools, Port Huron, and right here in Walled Lake. I was also selected as a Michigan Educator Voice Fellow, through an organization called America Achieves. It's main mission is to give tools to educators to amplify and elevate their voices. I will have the opportunity to impact policies and speak on the behalf of educators on a variety of topics! This summer has been very full, but very rewarding!
Don't worry...I did have the opportunities to relax and have fun with my family. We went camping in Interlochen, we took a road trip to New Hampshire to visit my friend's lake house, and we managed to find some days to go golfing! I wish I would've been able to golf more, as I would like to improve on it more. Speaking of things I enjoy, I do enjoy singing. In Philly I was able to do live band karaoke and compete in the EdTech Voice of the Year Karaoke Competition. It was a lot of fun!
If you would like to find more information about my professional life, you can check out my digital resume. It includes video clips, photos, and other links that will give you a better understanding of who I am. We will spend the first few weeks getting to knew each other more through classroom community activities! I look forward to getting to know your son/daughter better as we move through 5th grade!
