WMS Giving Tree
Please see the message below from Serve 6.8, in regard to this year’s Giving Tree.
“The involvement of Windsor Middle School helped families in Northern Colorado provide a Christmas experience for their children. Your Giving Tree produced 165 gifts and 7 gift cards this year.
This Christmas season, 1,660 families were served through our Adopt-A-Family ministry. Meeting the practical needs of families is just the first step to helping them thrive, so we partner with volunteers, businesses, and local churches to make a true difference year-round by providing help with:
Food & Clothing
Job Assistance
Financial Counseling
Legal Support
Housing Assistance
Christmas (Adopt-A-Family)
Your involvement has made a true impact in your community! Thank you for supporting the work of SERVE 6.8 in your community. We will be in contact the beginning of October to get things set-up for next season!”
Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment
Please see the message below from the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment.
“How Sick is Too Sick?
When Children and Staff Should Stay Home from School or Child Care
There are three main reasons to keep sick children and adults at home:
The child or staff member does not feel well enough to take part in usual activities. For example, a child is overly tired, fussy or will not stop crying.
A child needs more care than teachers and staff can give while still caring for the other children.
The symptom or illness is on this list, and staying home is required. Remember, the best ways to stop the spread of infection is through good hand washing and staying home when sick. “
Tardy Policy Reminder
A student is tardy if they are not in the required classroom or teaching station when the passing period has ended. There are two types of tardies:
Excused - with another staff member or administrator (get a pass from that teacher before going to the next class), extreme circumstances in the morning at home (car trouble, illness, etc. - Parents or guardians are asked to call or write a note including the reason for the tardy).
Unexcused - oversleeping, arriving at class late without a pass from a staff member, going to the lockers or restroom and arriving late (asking the teacher first before going will eliminate being counted tardy), arriving at school late with no note or a call, or repeated morning tardies. This also includes in between class tardies.
