Save the Date: Thanksgiving Meal
Join us for the annual Thanksgiving Meal on Thursday!
In making sure we have enough food to serve, we ended taking reservations for guests joining us on Thursday this week.
For families who made reservations to eat with us, you have a few options in paying for your meal. Parents are able to request payment for the cost of their meal to be taken from their child's meal account. In addition, you can or pay (cash or check). Having exact change or small bills (under $10.00) will help us on this very busy day. If you select to write a check, please make this check to Park Hill Food Service.
For parking on Thursday, we encourage guests to park in the back parking lot. (Enter at Lakeview Middle School). We will have the fourth grade exterior door (Exterior Door #7) available for guests to enter English Landing. This exterior door will be available for entrance between 11:00am and 12:45pm.
Thank you!
Eagles, It is COLD Outside!
The Park Hill guidelines for outside recess is if the real temperature or "feels like" temperature is 20 degrees or higher, then we will go OUTSIDE for recess. Eagles LOVE outside recess! PLEASE help us by labeling your child's coat(s) with his/her first and last name. THANK YOU! We return items to students that are FOUND in the Lost and Found area when a name identifies the owner. Thanks so much for your help!

Career Share: Schedule a Classroom Visit!
Parental involvement in your child’s classroom is one of the leading factors in raising self-esteem and academic achievement. This can go beyond attendance at Parent and Teacher Conferences or attending family nights at English Landing. We want to see you at a Career Share Classroom Visit!
Each of our English Landing families are unique ---with their own talents. Career Share is an opportunity for every child at English Landing to showcase THEIR family to their classmates. Career Share is an amazing opportunity for you to visit our classroom. Your involvement will not only make their day, but provide another opportunity for you to partner with English Landing and your child’s education.
Right now, this Career Share Sign Up is for classroom visits in October, November, and December. Second Semester Career Share Sign Up times will be shared in December. Your classroom teacher will be sending the link to sign up.
Our goal is to have EVERY student have a member(s) of their family come share in our classroom about their job and careers. It truly means the world to our Eagles.

Celebrating Birthdays at English Landing!
Celebrating Student Birthdays: (Park Hill Parent/Student Handbook pages 37-38):
We are happy to celebrate student birthdays and half birthdays (if your child has a summer birthday) at English Landing! To protect the health and safety of our students, families may bring pre-packaged treats to school to share with classmates. In order to address any known allergy concerns, a label listing ingredients should be affixed to the package. Due to allergies and other food intolerances, please consult with your classroom teacher before the pre-packaged treats are brought to school. As a healthier alternative, Park Hill Food Service offers a variety of nutritious treats that may be purchased.
At English Landing we need your HELP! Many birthday treats arrive at the beginning of the school day which provides us time to review the class list regarding food allergies or food intolerances, however, many other birthday treats arrive during lunch and often right at the same time the treat needs to be distributed to students. PLEASE plan on arriving earlier for lunch (at least 15 minutes) to give us time to check the pre-packaged treat ingredients with the students in the classroom who have food allergies or food intolerances. Our school nurse, Mrs. Kimbrel, and office staff, Mrs. Stevens, Mrs. Wood, or Mrs. Scott, will help with this process so when the lunchroom staff teachers distribute the treat in the cafeteria, additional steps have been taken to ensure we are protecting the health and safety of our eagles.
