A Message from bishop fernandez

2022-2023 School Year Message to Families | Bishop Fernandes | Dr. Adam Dufault

Meet the teacher night thursday!

On Thursday, September 8, at 7:00 p.m., we will open the doors to the school for our annual Meet the Teacher Night. This informative evening will allow you to meet the entire school staff, see your child's classroom, sit in a 15-minute presentation by the classroom teacher and learn of all the highlights and expectations we have for the upcoming year. The evening will begin in Marian Hall, where we will introduce the entire staff, and then we will quickly shift into individual classroom presentations in all Preschool through 8th-grade classrooms.

This will be an evening you won't want to miss. All of our specialists (Art, Music, Physical Education, etc.) and our support staff (Psychologist, Reading Specialist, Cafeteria Manager, etc.) will be on hand throughout the evening to answer any questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you Thursday, September 8, at 7:00 p.m.

School Advisory Board

Welcome and congratulations to our new School Advisory Board, who will kick off the new school year with their first meeting on Thursday, September 15.

The following school parents are the elected members of the advisory board: Ian McAuliffe, April Byrne, Jon DeLuca, Rebecca Henderson, Kate Mahler, Amanda Mangini, Lisa Marie Nagy, Patrick Ortlieb, and Michelle Potokar. Thank you for your time and service to our school and parish community. We are looking forward to a fantastic year ahead.

Picture Day

All students and staff will have their pictures taken next Friday, September 16. [Our Preschool class of 3-year-olds will have the option of having their picture taken on Friday, September 16, or on Thursday, November 8.]

Our picture day is an out-of-uniform day for the students. However, it is different than a dress-down day, as students should be in "business casual" attire for the day. Jeans, sweatpants, and loungewear type of clothing are examples of what not to wear. We want to maintain the appropriate academic atmosphere without clothing as much as possible. Students can wear their uniforms on picture day, which is a choice for some families every year.

Picture information was sent home. You will have the option to send in cash or a check with your child, or you can pay for pictures online, whichever is most convenient for your family. As our returning families may have noticed, we returned to the HR Imagining, the photography company we've used in previous years.

Junior High Dance

Immaculate Conception will host a Watterson Feeder School junior high dance on Friday, Sept. 16 from 7 - 9:30 p.m. in the gym. All 7th and 8th graders are invited to attend to have fun with friends and meet future classmates! Watterson Feeder School Guidelines and dress code applies - see the guidelines in the Resources section of FACTS. We're still in need of volunteers to make the junior high dance happen!

Please sign up at: Thanks to everyone who donated refreshments - there are only a few items left to stock the concession stand (see link in SignupGenius).

HASA September Meeting

Please join us for the first Home and School Association (HASA) meeting of the year on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. at the school. We will go over the upcoming activities. HASA is a great way to learn what's happening at the school and to meet other families. The mission of HASA is to enable a partnership between the family and the school in support of our children's Catholic education. HASA conducts fundraising and community-building activities while encouraging and facilitating parent involvement.

HASA- Room Parents Sign-ups

As a room parent, there are many unique ways to volunteer your time and efforts! Room parents plan 3 parties per year and help teachers with supplies needed! As the head room parent, you will be the one to collect class funds from your class and use those for the teacher gifts, festival basket, and for any supplies you need for the parties. We welcome new parents!! All volunteers must have completed The Protecting God's Children class and have background check/fingerprints on file. Please use the link below to sign up and make sure to say whether you prefer to be a helper or a head room parent.

Rusty Bucket night

Please bring your appetites to our neighborhood Rusty Bucket on Wednesday September 21st (dine in or carry out!) to help support our school! Bring flyer or use code during online check out so all sales get credited to IC. Thanks!

Every day of this six-week study provides Scripture to get you started with notes for further Bible readings. You will find a daily devotion, thoughts to begin journaling, and a prayer prompt to dovetail with your reading. Step-by-step, day-by-day, these words console and bring clarity to the hard days among us, especially today. With this study, we will dig deep into the study of God’s words of consolation.
