Inheritance
The inheritance of asthma is autosomal, if one of your parents have or had asthma than you will probably have asthma. if both of your parents have or had asthma than you are even more likely to get asthma.
Treatments of asthma
Asthma has no cure so the goal to treating asthma is to control it. Some examples are:
- maintain good lung function
- prevent asthma attacks by seeing the doctor before it gets bad
- prevent chronic symptoms
- reduce need for quick-relief medicines
Research outlook
There are many medicines to improve not having asthma attacks, however, many people do not take them so they are putting themselves in a big risk. Some research is being conducted such as breathing exercises to reduce and relieve a person of asthma attacks.
Name of Gene
An over-active gene "ORMDL3" was linked to around 30 percent of childhood asthma cases. this gene is responsible for disrupting the synthesis of lipid molecules.
How are carriers detected
Carriers of Asthma usually have asthma because it runs in your family. If one of your parents in your family have asthma than you will probably have it too. There is no genetic test for Asthma.
