The Warrior Way
Respect, Perseverance, Integrity, Responsibility, Compassion
Warrior Life
We have a had an eventful week this week at Warren both in and out of the classroom. Many of our 8th grade students took the PSAT this week to help begin their college and career readiness. Our 7th grade Texas history students conducted a DBQ over the early explorers of the west. Mrs. Wetzel and the International Studies Club explored all things France on Friday.
Many of our Warriors participated in displaying some of our core values of compassion and respect this week. Students wore blue shirt to let our friends at Community ISD know that our thoughts and prayers were with them and those lost this week. Our students also displayed these same values as we concluded our can food drive this week. We set a campus goal of 1,500 canned good and our students rose to the challenge. Our campus raised 2,523 canned goods. All of these cans will go to the Forney Food pantry to give out to families in need.
This week concluded the end of the 2019 football season. The 7th grade B team and 8th grade A team were both victorious in their games, while our other teams fought hard this week to finish a great season. The Warren tennis team also participated in their first tournament this week. Warren played against several teams including Mansfield, Kaufman, Brown, and Spring Hill. Our Warriors did a great job and had a strong showing. We had a few Warriors place in the tournament.
7th grade Girls Double winning 2nd place- Isabelle Melgar and Gabriella Melgar.
7th grade boys singles 2nd place- Christian Yates.
8th grade girls double 2nd place -Emma Snow and Emily Snow.
8th grade boys single consolation winner- Caleb Bui.
We ended this week with a fun and energizing pep rally. This rally recognized our fall sports and highlight many of the great clubs and organizations on our campus. We want to thank our students, parents, and teachers that helped make this such a great experience for our students.
We are so proud of Warren Warriors and the hard work that the display both in and out of the classroom.
Warrior Teacher of Week
This week we would like to recognize Mr. Mark Olgin as our teacher of the week. Mr. Olgin teaches 7th grade Texas History. He serves on our Process Champions committee and is the sponsor for the Fellowship of Christian Students club as well. Mr. Olgin loves history and lights up whenever there is an opportunity to discuss it. He brings this passion for history to the classroom each day. Mr Olgin is always at his door greeting his students. He takes a genuine interest in his students and what they are interested in. Mr. Olgin always has a great attitude and smile on his face. He is always trying to find ways to challenge his students while making history come alive. We appreciate all that Mr. Olgin does for his students and Warren and are grateful to have him in our Warren family.
Warrior Students of the Week
This week we would like to recognize Muhammad Shukrallah as our 7th grade Warrior of the Week. Muhammad is always on task and works hard in all that he does. He is meticulous in his approach to his work and is always displaying the Warrior Way in all that he does.
We would like to recognize Elisabeth Grethey for our 8th grade Warrior of the Week. Elisabeth is such a help and displays this by staying after school to help her teachers prepare for the next day's lesson. She displays this in the classroom as well with her fellow students.
We are very proud of these two students and how they display the Warrior Way in all that they do! Great job Warriors!
