21st CCLC After-School Learning
Lynnhaven Elementary School will implement the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant (CCLC) for the 2018-2019 school year. 21st CCLC provides a unique opportunity to explore multiple pathways, while supporting our school and division goals. This afterschool program will begin on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 and end June 6, 2019. Participants will attend on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:05-4:35 pm. They will also have an opportunity to attend Saturday field trips and workshops, along with adult family members. Also, a 10-day summer session is included. For questions, please see Ms. Jackson, Program Coordinator or Mrs. Banwaree-Taylor, Curriculum and Activities Coordinator.
Dan St. Romain
Title I will continue the professional learning series this year with Dan St. Romain and have selected Lynnhaven to join this opportunity!
You may have heard how well received this professional learning was from others. Dan is an extremely engaging presenter with very practical, hands-on lessons to help teachers shift their perspectives about behavior and to help students grow socially and emotionally with prevention, intervention and crisis lessons/strategies. His teaching is not a “system.” The learning blends with practices you may already be using. You may learn more about Dan at https://danstromain.com/.
If you are interested in being a part of this training, please send Mrs. Breaux an email no later than Wednesday, October 3rd. She will select five teachers who will participate in this professional learning opportunity. They will be matched with a pair of teachers leaders who received training last year and their school’s cohort to work in collaboration with Dan to provide additional support throughout the year.
Dates for the training are October 18, January 14, and May 16 from 12:30-3:30pm.
