You got this!
American Education Week
Why do you celebrate your birthday? Aren't you getting older all of the time? Why do you celebrate Thanksgiving? Aren't you thankful everyday for what you have? Why Christmas...shouldn't that joy be around all year?
Well of course you are, you continue to be and it should.....but,
isn't it nice to have that reminder every year that I am going to really reflect on what these things mean to me? I want to take a special day with people that I care about and talk about how important these things are to me and how much I enjoy them.
So, back to American Education week....is it just another week that you teach your kids, they get to wear a hat and then we move on to the next EOG topic or is it a time when you truly reflect on why you decided to do what you do and talked about with others about those times that have really made education as a profession good for you? I challenge you to do that this week. Think about your educational journey, from elementary school to college to giving that knowledge back to kids. Write down five things that you really like about your job (and think about those things when it gets rough).
We are truly blessed to live in a country that provides an education to all of its people. Of course there could always be more, but there are examples all over the world where there is so much less.
Thank you for all that you do....thank you for your commitment, thank you for your time! We have American education this week and then, only two days next week....work really hard get a lot accomplished and feel satisfied eating that Hershey's kiss at the end of the week!
Aaron
Make sure you go to the media center to take a look at the student rosters....we will leave them out for people to complete over the next week or so.
Many apologies....
