Skip the Trip - Remote Knowledge Test for Instructional Permits
TEST DATES: February 12, 2020
Parents & Students,
We wanted to let you know about the Skip the Trip program being offered at the Pella High School. This program is an opportunity for 14-year-olds to take the Instructional Permit knowledge test remotely and to skip the line at the county treasurer's office.
Students will take the 25 question test on their Chrome Books for a duration of 20-30 minutes. Upon completion, students will know if they passed or failed the test. Students who failed the test will have to wait 24 hours before they can re-take the test. Students who passed the test will need to complete the vision portion and prove their identity at the county treasurer's office when they pick up their permit. Below is a summary of documents they will need as proof of identity:
- Proof of age and identity
- Proof of Iowa residency
- Proof of legal presence in the U.S.
- Proof of your social security number
- Parental consent form
- Visit this website for options of other documents: www.iowadot.gov
