A Message from Mrs. Booth

Dear Silver Springs Families,

And just like that, we are more than halfway through the month of May, Memorial Day is just around the corner, and we only have 4 weeks of school left! Devon Caudill, the principal at Amerman, mentioned the following in her weekly newsletter and it really resonated with me: "Time seems to have no concept these days. Some days feel like weeks and some weeks feel like hours." I couldn't agree with her more. I'm wondering if any of you are feeling that way, too?

I am looking forward to some warmer and sunnier weather. I know my family and I need to get outside, get some vitamin D, and sharpen the saw while getting some fresh air. The rain has left us feeling a little cooped up. I hope that everyone is able to get out and enjoy the little bit of sunshine we should see on Saturday.

Stay safe and be well!

Katie Booth

The survey should take you approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. Please try to respond to all items. Thank you!

Silver Springs Elementary School offers the EduKit program as a convenient option for busy families to order school supplies for the 2020/2021 year. EduKits include the supplies approved by your school.

The Northville Council of PTAs in partnership with the middle and elementary schools are very excited about our school supply kit fundraiser ~ providing a convenient way for families to purchase school supplies for the coming school year. The school supply lists have been developed by the teachers in each grade, at each school.

Please note that the supply lists are simply suggestions of helpful items and are strictly voluntary, as Northville Public Schools provide the necessary supplies and materials for your child’s successful school experience.

Your student's order will be delivered directly to your school before the first day of school.

Extended ordering is available from June 13, 2020 - August 06, 2020 for an additional fee and will be delivered to your home shortly before school begins.

It's Kindergarten Registration Time!!!

Did you miss Teacher Appreciation Week? There is still time to show your favorite teacher or staff member how much you appreciate them!

Through the Northville Educational Foundation’s Thank A Staff program, it’s easy to recognize a special teacher, principal, teacher aide, counselor, coach, or other individual(s) who makes your student’s educational experience an exceptional one. For a small donation to NEF, each Thank A Staff recipient will be honored with a personalized Certificate of Appreciation customized with your student’s name or family name, a personal message AND a “You are Super!” magnetic dry eraser as a daily reminder of how much you appreciate them. Proceeds from Thank A Staff will help NEF support the District’s programs and initiatives. Order online via Credit Card at www.SupportNEF.org. Orders are DUE TO NEF BY Friday, May 22nd. Certificates will be delivered by NEF in June. Questions? NEF@northvilleedfoundation.org.

Silver Springs Playground is Closed

We completely understand that the Stay at Home order issued by our Governor during this challenging time is extremely difficult for you and our students, and that part of our being as humans is socializing with each other. As part of the order, Governor Whitmer has encouraged families and individuals to get outside, take walks, etc., but the order does not allow for large gatherings, or gatherings at parks and playgrounds, which includes on our school playgrounds.

In accordance with the Governor’s Stay Safe. Stay Home. Executive Order, and by Order of the Oakland County Health Division, Northville Public Schools has closed all of our school playgrounds and fields, including ALL play structures. Student safety and well being is at the forefront of all we do for our students both at Silver Springs and across Northville Public Schools. We are asking you to do everything you can to slow the spread. We appreciate your help in keeping each other safe and healthy.
