π WELCOME TO 2ND GRADE!
Welcome to 2nd Grade! My name is Mrs. Hatcher, and I am so excited to be your teacher this year! This is my nineteenth year as a Chapel Hill Bobcat and my seventeenth year teaching second grade. I am so excited to get our school year started!
This year is going to be absolutely epic, as we break in our new building and spread our wings to do anything we set our minds to! I hope youβre blown away with the growth you see in your second grader this year! I canβt wait for a fun-filled year! We are going to have a blast!

π Education
I was born and raised in the Northland and attended college at the University of Missouri - Columbia. Gooooo Tigers!! I have two masterβs degrees; one in Literacy Education, which I also earned at Mizzou, and a second masterβs degree in Educational Technology, which I earned through Park University!
I love learning about the latest technology, so look forward to experimenting with all of the technology available to us at Chapel Hill. We will be learning about way more than the basics of iPads in 2nd grade! We will be creating, sharing ideas, collaborating, and even coding throughout the year! Youβll hear a lot about the technology work in our classroom!
π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Family
When I am not teaching, planning for teaching, or getting things ready for school, I love playing outside. I live on a lake with my family and we are very active in watersports, especially swimming and sailing. My husband, Travis, and I have a thirteen (almost fourteen) year old daughter, Andra, who is a swimmer and a dancer and is in eighth grade this year. I also have a 7 Β½ year old daughter, Elli, who will be a second grader. Our family is completed with our tiny puppy, Lucy, who is a five-pound Morkie. She is very spicy and is teaching me to have lots of patience!!
π Chiefs!
Everyone in the Hatcher family is a HUGE Chiefs fan! We have had season tickets to the Chiefs for over 15 years and are SO excited about the amazing season last year. We love the Royals, too! Most of the time, my TV has sports on it, unless we are watching classic movies on Disney+!
