September 29, 2020 - Issue 4
From Principal Hammond
Thank you to those of you who have had the opportunity to read Dr. Harrison's letter regarding our full reopening on October 5th. If you plan to stay in hybrid, or transition to temporary learning from home, please fill out the survey and let us know (teachers and administration) so we are able to set up classrooms and plan accordingly. We recognize that this is a big decision to make, and we are here to support you through the process.
In collaboration with health and safety officials, we will continue to ensure a safe environment in which your children can learn. The protocols that we have shared with you up to this point will continue to be enforced: frequent hand washing, hand sanitizer stations throughout the building, social distancing during lunch, masks on during recess unless students are at least six feet apart, and desks between three and six feet apart and facing one direction during learning as per AAP and CDC recommendations. Additionally we will be providing an individual face shield to each student as a second layer of protection.
We look forward to having students back in the building full time. We have also been in collaboration with our bus company and encourage families to consider using our bus transportation. As you can imagine, as we shift to all-in, the drop off and pick up lines may be longer than you are used to. We will be sending a more detailed letter to families this week to update everyone on our new protocols and procedures for drop off and pick up that we hope will remain safe and efficient for you and our students.
Thank you for your partnership and cooperation throughout these changing and challenging times!
Due to the current health and safety precautions in place, we are limiting visitors in our building to essential business only. If you need to come to the school to pick up your child, please be sure you have a government issued ID on you for entry each and every time. Even if we recognize you, we will ask for your ID. This is our policy.
Traffic SafetyPlease be reminded to follow all traffic rules while driving in our parking lots and around RES, including stopping at stop signs and adhering to the speed limit. Cars may not travel into the bus loop during arrival and dismissal.
School Dismissal Manager
If there are changes to your child's dismissal plans, remember to log in to School Dismissal Manager to update with the new plans. A reminder that 'bus' is the default for all students. Distribution of a student pick up number tag, or the data from the summer survey does not automatically inform us that your child is a pick up.
