The Walker Talker
Walker Career Center weekly update - August 14, 2020
WCC Career Programs Are Back in Action
The Walker Career Center team is working hard to maximize every opportunity we have with students this year in the labs while completing hands on activities. Here are a few pictures and videos from our various programs back in action this week.
CONSTRUCTION TRADES AND THEIR TOYS
The individuals in Construction Trades were provided an opportunity to experiment with some pretty exciting "toys" this week as they are prepping Lot 30 for their new build.

Health Careers is doing their part
Our future nurses were able to start the year with an Infection Control lesson that worked on learning the proper technique to wash their hands as to not potentially infect others and prevent the spread of infection.
LEARNING TO WORK WITH OTHERS IN A FAST PACED ENVIRONMENT
As Healthcare Professionals, individuals must collaborate for the sake of their patients while also remaining active. Healthcare Professionals need to feed off of adrenaline and fast past environments and no two days are alike in healthcare. In order to help replicate that in the classroom Mrs. West has her students learning through student research and teaching about the different places where they will work in a collaborative setting.
Welding I is heating up
Individuals in Welding I were given an opportunity to light up their Welding torch for the first time today. Always exciting to see them navigate through the nervous yet exciting energy while lighting it for the first time.
