A Message from Our Principal
In our prayer service this morning, we talked about Jesus saying “I am the vine. You are the branches.” On the Fifth Sunday of Easter we have the wonderful reading from John's gospel about Jesus as the vine. We are the branches that are pruned to bear more fruit. The powerful invitation is to remain connected with Jesus, that we might make our home in him, and bear much fruit. If we choose not to make our home in him, we will go somewhere other than heaven.
Thursday is the Feast of Saints Philip and James, Apostles. We will also crown Mary, Queen of Heaven. Each student is asked to bring one or more flowers which will be brought to the altar. 2 students from each grade level will be part of the procession. In addition, some of the Mass parts will be in Spanish.
Fiesta Day: Early Dismissal ---Students may dress in Hispanic costume or the school uniform. It is not a non-uniform dress day. If no fiesta attire, then the student must wear school uniform.
Ordination to the Priesthood--- The Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth announces and invites you to attend the Ordination of Jonathan Demma and Maurice Moon, on Saturday, May 19, at 10am. The Ordination will be at St. Patrick Cathedral, 1206 Throckmorton Street, downtown Fort Worth. This is a great opportunity to attend an ordination if you haven’t every done so, or if your children haven’t attended. It’s a beautiful celebration.
We have 19 full days and 3 half-days of school remaining. Please encourage your children to continue to work hard, be on time to school, and finish the school year strong. This is part of Jesus’ invitation to us: to use the gifts that our Father in Heaven has given us. Our second graders will make their First Holy Communion on Saturday, 10am. Please pray for them and their families.
Peace in Christ,
Dr. John Shreve
Thank You Michael Davidson for the book donations!
