Planbook Lesson Plan Trial

Big image
Friendly reminder that this tool is available for the entire district to test out. Any feedback on your experience is appreciated. If you didn't receive the email from the system, please just use the forgot password button and have the system send it to your district email. A couple of teachers have been using the system. If you have questions or need assistance, Renaia with the Phoenix School/BGH location is willing to provide email support.

Remember, you can share lesson plans with anyone in the district through this trial. Don't recreate the wheel. Network!

You have until the last day of February to test it out!

Google Drive

Get access to files anywhere through secure cloud storage and file backup for your photos, videos, files and more with Google Drive.

I'm sure most of you know that I'm a big fan of Apple and Google! I've created a Google Drive just for you to have access to any educational files I find online or create. You can use this open link for access. I will be adding tons more in the coming months.

Coming Soon...Skoolbo

Geared toward elementary children, Skoolbo is a great new program to help with reading and math. Children are immersed in an incredible learning world and are highly motivated by the inbuilt rewards. Parents and teachers are equipped with an array of tools to help achieve wonderful educational outcomes for their children.

I registered our District for the Free Forever plan which means we will never pay the school license fee. This program is through a partnership with Microsoft. Skoolbo is available on PC's, Macs, iPads, Android and Win 8 devices. It will also work on other devices that use HTML 5 on the internet browser. Skoolbo works online or offline and syncs when connected to the server. There is no advertising on Skoolbo. Teachers receive premium reports.

Phoenix elementary students (BGH campus) are already using this system. Mangum and Bissonnet, your accounts are being created and students will be able to utilize this at home (and school if you wish).

YAPP app will be used all year long for Professional Development. You may upload photos, submit documents to be added, post to the newsfeed, view The District twitter feed and more. We'd love to see what's going on in your classroom/on your campus. Thanks to those that continue to add to the app!

You can find the application on the website and I've also added to the Google Drive in the Grants folder.

BTW, I encourage you to consider joining TCEA. Fantastic organization to join! Check it out!

Email on Apple and Android Mobile Devices

One of the questions I am asked most often is help with putting email on the phone. How do I connect my Outlook email to my device? Normally I would assist on helping you put it with all your other emails. This tip is tell you about the app that you can use separably to have your work emails in it's own app. I like this way much better because I don't have to scroll through my personal emails and it provides the look of the desktop version. Yes, it contains all your tabs: calendar, people, task, etc.

So for those who want work emails on your phone, I think you'll love this app.

Here's the link to download the app: iOS | Android

I'm not a Windows user but unfortunately Windows user experience will not be the same.
