Comparison of Colonial Regions

New England Region
People wanted freedom to have their own religion. The region depend heavily on the Atlantic Ocean seeing that building ships, trading and fishing was the main industry in that particular region. Puritan was the known central of the religion for the region
Southern Region
The southern colonies were an ideal place for agriculture, southern societies tended to be divided between the rich plantation owners, poor farmers, and slaves. Some of the largest farms were called plantations, and they each grew indigo, rice, cotton and tobacco these items were important. The religion in the south was Anglican
Middle Region
Puritan was the known religion. Due to waterways they benefited from fur trade and a relationship with the native Americans economicaly. They featured a more diverse population in the colonies the region had a frontier who pushed continually towards the west
