Pennies for Patients

Monday, Feb. 8th, 9am to Friday, March 11th, 4pm

6450 Doctor Phillips Boulevard

Orlando, FL

Kids with blood cancer need your help.

Pennies for Patients has once again arrived at Southwest Middle School, and we need your help to change the lives of Patients with Leukemia, Lymphoma, and other types of blood cancer.

Sponsored by NJHS.

Here are some things you need to know before joining in:

What is Pennies for Patients?

Pennies for Patients is a program run by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's School and Youth Programs. Teachers will give out small cardboard boxes to collect pennies and other coins or dollars. All of the money goes to research and medical treatments for blood cancer patients.

How can I fundraise for Pennies for Patients?

Starting February 8th, you will be given small cardboard boxes to collect pennies in. You may personalize this box and convince people to give you donations before school, after school, in between periods, and at the beginning of class. You may also ask for help at your local community center, church, neighborhood, etc. If you have filled your box or have a broken one, you can always ask your teacher for more!

1st Period Box Collections

You may or may have not noticed that your 1st period classroom has a decorated white box. These boxes are for a special competition to win a party for your classroom! Here's how to compete:

In order to win the class party, your 1st period class must raise the most funds out of every other classroom. Whoever raises the most money gets a special classroom party - that's right! The winners will be announced on the news after Pennies for Patients ends.

If you are homeschooled or take online classes, you are not eligible for the 1st period party.

Thank you for helping us out!
