Flu Vaccine Clinic
Information was sent home in August about the upcoming influenza vaccination clinic offered by Health Hero PA in our Red Lion schools. This program is a voluntary program at school to help prevent the flu, a common disease that impacts student absenteeism. To help you keep your child well, Health Hero will be providing injectiable flu vaccinations on Tuesday, October 8th at the Red Lion Area School District. To take part in this program, please return the consent forms that were sent out or contact your child's school nurse for another one to be sent home with your child(ren).
Medication Policy Reminder:
Please do not send medication to school with your child. School policy states that any medication must be brought to the health room by an adult. This includes over-the -counter medications, too.
Parent reminder: All Kindergarten and 6th grade students need to submit a completed physical form along with updated immunization records by November 15, 2019.
Halloween Safety for Kids:
Children love Halloween! They get to dress up and get free candy! Give your kids some precious Halloween memories that they'll have for life.
Some of your kids already know things that they can do to be safe, like how to cross the street, not to talk to or go with strangers and things like that. Here are some tips that we have just for your kids, to help keep them safe on Halloween night! You are never too young to learn!
* Make sure your child carries a flashlight, glow stick, or has reflective tape on their costume to make them more visible to cars.
* Never, ever go into a stranger's house or even ring their door for treats unless your parents are with you and say that it's okay. There are some people in life that aren't very nice to kids and you have to be careful. Always make sure that your adult is within sight when you go out trick-or-treating.
* Instruct your children not to eat any treats until they bring them home to be examined by you.
Elementary Building Cross Country Meet
The annual elementary buildings cross country meets will be held on the following dates for grades 4-6:
CV- October 8 @ 1:15 (Rain Date is October 11)
LG- October 8 @ 9:30 (Rain Date is October 10)
LJM- October 4 @ 9:30 (Rain Date is October 9)
MG- October 4 @ 9:30 (Rain Date is October 11)
NHW- October 9 @ 9:30 (Rain Date is October 10)
PV- October 3 @ 9:30 (Rain Date is October 7)
In addition, please remain in the line and do not pass other cars, as this is unsafe as well. The only place that students should be dropped off while buses are out front is near the mailbox. Please do not pull into the handicap parking spots to drop off students. In the event of bad weather, once all buses have unloaded, you may pull around to the front of the school and drop students at the front door. However, this can only be after all buses have unloaded. It is important that everyone follows these rules in order to keep all students at NHW safe.
We thank Mrs. Conley, our PTO President, this year for helping to organize this event.
Picture re-takes will be for those students who were absent, new to the school, or need a picture re-take. Please see Ms. Marcules with any questions, or to make arrangements. Picture packages must be returned before day of re-take. Any PM kindergarten children must be brought to the school at 9:30am.
