February 18th Edition
Book Fair This Week
This week the PTA will hold the book fair at Oak Ridge school. Students will have two ways to purchase books as well as other fun items. The first way will be during the school day when students come to the Media Center with their classes. You are welcome to send money with your child for the book fair if you would like. The second way to visit the book fair will be Thursday night during Family Read Night.
Family Read Night (Thursday 6-8pm)
Come to Oak Ridge, bring the family, and hang out with your favorite teachers! You will be able to choose from 4 different activities and book sessions. Other exciting events include the Traveling Planetarium and the Wizards Apprentice Magic Show. You will get a chance to turn in your raffle ticket at the end of the night to win prizes and amazing books. So come join us for a night of fun and excitement!
.Have a Heart Collection
The Student Council is teaming up with the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation. The foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing comfort to children and teens undergoing procedures to treat cancer. Student Council is asking for $5 gift cards, or cash donations that can be used to buy gift cards, that will be given to these children in need. Please bring any gift cards or cash donations to Oak Ridge School and give to Student Council Sponsors Mrs. Dembek or Mrs. Barker. Please read the flyer for more information. As always, thank you. We know that with your help we can make a difference in the lives of these families going through a difficult time.
