MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL OPHUS
Dear Fairview Families,
Winter surely has made its mark this year! Thank you to all families for their flexibility on Tuesday as a remote learning day was called for all students. While the snow wasn’t as heavy as expected near Fairview, many of our staff would have had an extremely difficult time getting to work based on how much snow fell in other areas nearby. With all of the snow and cold we’ve had this winter, I can’t remember being so excited to see forecasted highs in the 30s for next week!
Today marks the end of the second trimester. For students who will be transitioning from remote to hybrid learning on Monday, please take a moment to watch this instructional video to help prepare students for their first day back in the building if you haven’t done so already. It is important for our students to know what is expected related to student safety, so we appreciate you taking the time to watch this video with your children who are making this change. With the end of the trimester, teachers are working to prepare report cards to be sent home next Friday. Be on the lookout for these reports along with MAP assessment reports to be sent home on Friday, February 26th.
As we head into the weekend, we have some celebrations to share. Take a look at this week’s video newsletter from Mrs. Durkan at this link to hear about our next group of raffle winners, upcoming birthdays and a few other updates. Have a nice weekend!
Sincerely,
Dan Ophus
Fairview Principal

DONATE TO DISTRICT 57 FAMILIES IN NEED
COVID-19 has presented many unique hardships and challenges for some of our family members, friends and neighbors. Some parents have asked if it’s possible to make a financial donation to help support District 57 families who are currently in need. The District has set up a system to facilitate this for anyone who is interested. We will distribute the collected funds to families, based on formal requests that are made. If you would like to donate, simply go to this link and follow these steps:
- Click on “Make a one-time payment.”
- Fill in your student’s name, school and grade.
- Click “COVID-19 Donation to District 57 Families.”
- Fill in your information and donation amount, then proceed to the payment section.
Thank you so much, in advance, for your kindness and generosity.
Those who are in need of support can fill out this online form. Names will only be seen by select district personnel who are distributing the funds.
Thank you,
Adam Parisi, Ed.S.
