AISD Celebrates Veterans Day
It was a beautiful Veterans Day morning today with Coder Elementary Veteran moms and dads greeting students as they arrived! Take a look at more pictures from Coder morning drop off here.
Our Aledo ISD elementary schools each put together a video program to share with the community. Please take a moment to watch:
We hope you enjoy seeing our students honor the Veterans in their lives!
AISD Employees Recognized as Circle of Greatness Special Honorees
Congratulations to our Fall Circle of Greatness Special Honorees! We were excited to get a chance to recognize these four employees - in the professional, paraprofessional, auxiliary and guest teacher categories - for their tireless work for our Aledo ISD students.
Professional: Ashley Watson, Vandagriff Elementary
One of Ashley's nominators said, "My son is in her class and he ADORES her. She has grown him as a reader, she loves him (and all her students like a parent hopes their child's teacher would) and has motivated him to be the best he can be. I am so grateful for her!"
Paraprofessional: Laura Salame, Aledo High School
One of Laura's nominators said, "Laura is the first person our new families come in contact with when they enroll. She is patient, welcoming, helpful, and provides excellent customer service. Her job is incredibly demanding and can be extremely high stress. She serves students, families, and the school with greatness."
Auxiliary: Bob Brauer, transportation
Bob's nominator recalled a story about riding on the bus with him and how he got to know his students. "Mr. Brauer addressed every student as they got off the bus at their stop. In the conversations he had with the students it was evident that Mr. Brauer knew the students and truly enjoyed being the last person the student would talk to from the school district."
Guest Teacher: Mitra Ahmadi, Aledo Middle School
One of Mitra's nominator's said, "She strives for specificity in her communication to ensure she understands what is expected of students when teaching in classrooms. As well, she does not hesitate to contact staff when a question arises so that she can help students in individualized ways. She is an incredible asset to AMS!"
