International Women's Day
Malala Yousafzai
"The extremists are afraid of books and pens. The power of education frightens them. They are afraid of women. The power of the voice of women frightens them." - Malala Yousafzai.
Malala is 18 years old. She is a] campaigner for women's education in Pakistan and is also the youngest winner of a noble peace prize. She began campaigning for women's education when she was 12. She defied the Taliban and demanded that girls be allowed to receive an education. When Malala as 14 she was shot in the left side of her head by a Taliban gunman and luckily survived. Malala inspires me because she has overcome so much and done so much in her life so far to speak out for women. She has opened a school for Syrian refugees and continues to campaign against the Taliban.
