Fall and Spring Membership Count Dates
The Indiana Department of Education will collect an average daily membership (ADM) count of students in the fall semester on September 13, and in the spring semester on February 3, 2020. Both counts will be used to determine funding for the Basic Tuition Support Grant. Please read the Membership (DOE-ME) layout which can be found in Data Layouts at the following link. Fall and Spring Full-Time Equivalency Count Dates for Adult Learner Charter Schools
IDOE will collect a full-time equivalency (FTE) count of students participating in charter school Adult Learner programs in the fall on September 13, 2019 and in the spring on February 3, 2020. Both counts will be used to determine Adult Learner distributions to qualifying charter schools. Please read the Membership (DOE-MA) layout which can be found in Data Layouts at the following link. For questions regarding the FTE count, please email Melissa Ambre. Fall count date: September 13.
Summer School Reporting
The deadline for public and charter schools to submit the Final Instructional Costs Report for Summer School 2019 is September 13. Eligible schools are posted in this memo. Access to the report is posted here or can be accessed directly by clicking on this link. If you have additional questions about the Final Instructional Costs Report for Summer School 2019, please contact Kathryn Roth or Melissa Ambre. Reports are due by September 13.
Federal Accountability Grade
For 2018-2019, schools will receive a Federal rating of either exceeds expectations, meets expectations, approaches expectations, or does not meet expectations based on all applicable indicators. Schools will not receive an A-F grade for Federal purposes.
For additional information on the Federal accountability ratings, please participate in our Moodle course on Federal accountability found here (course title: ESSA Accountability; course enrollment key: ESSAaccountability) and review resources available in our School Accountability and Accreditation Community in Moodle (School Accountability and Accreditation Community).
The proposed timeline for Federal accountability is below. This timeline is dependent upon timely receipt of data from third party vendors and may be amended to accommodate any changes in the delivery date of such third party vendor data.
· Nov 20: Preliminary release of Federal ratings in embargoed state to schools
· Nov 20-27: Data audit window (Attendance and English learner data sources only)
· Nov 27: Publication of Federal accountability ratings & school improvement statuses for SY 18-19

School Recruitment, Enrollment, and Marketing Webinar Series
IDOE is pleased to announce the second year of our popular charter school recruitment, enrollment, and marketing webinar series. Building off the success of our first year’s sessions, we are pleased to announce that we will continue to provide monthly webinars to our charter school leaders on how they can improve their school enrollment and marketing.
Nick Leroy, President of Bright Minds Marketing and a Hoosier expert in the field, will be hosting the webinars. Bright Minds Marketing is a consulting company that works specifically with charter schools to support student enrollment, recruitment, and retention through marketing and communications.
Webinars will be held the second Wednesday of every month, starting Wednesday September 11th, and the schedule, resources, and recordings can be found here.
