Mrs. Fortunato’s Message

Our school days were filled with many events this week! The 7th grade Science Fair was magnificent! Our students worked on projects that were well thought out, and their experiments supported their hypotheses. Scientists from Exxon judged the projects. They were very impressed with the students' creative collaboration.

May is a busy month for all, and it is so nice to see so many smiling parents in the building.

Thank you for investing your time in our school. Your presence is a gift and we truly value it. HAPPY MOTHER"S DAY TO ALL OUR MOMS!

The May Parent Information Meeting is Wednesday, May 22 at 6:30 in the Multi Purpose Room. ICS is thriving and we have great things to share. I hope to see you there!

Empathy - An important life skill. It is the ability to put oneself in someone else's shoes and understand that person's emotions and feelings. I invite you to partner with us to teach our children empathy. It is not something we are born with. It is skill that is taught and it is part of our mission statement. We want to surround ourselves with kind, considerate and respectful people. The end of this newsletter includes a short video that I will present to our middle school children, followed by a group discussion. Although our students have an incredible sense of caring, it is important for them to understand one's own feelings and the feelings of others as we grow together in God's love.
