Principal Weekly Update

February 7-February 11

Note from Ms. Robinson

Dear Welchester Community,

Due to the snow day on February 2nd, the monthly PTA meeting was moved to Wednesday, February 9th. We will record the Parent University session on grading, report cards and questions to ask at parent teacher conferences and share next week.

You may have seen communication that Jefferson County Public Health (JCPH) Board of Directors made a motion to rescind Public Health Order 21-006, lifting mask mandates for all, including schools, on Friday, February 18. Jeffco Public Schools will no longer require masks starting Friday, February 18. While I know this news causes a range of feelings for staff and families, I will communicate specific talking points and information as I receive it. We will continue to encourage and support the use of masks for staff and students because while it will no longer be mandated, we recognize guidance (and case numbers) encourages the use of masks to keep our students healthy and in school.

Please do not park in the bus lane when picking up students after school. The lane starts at the corner of 10th and Zang to almost 10th and Yank St. The northside of 10th and Zang is also a NO PARKING zone. It is not safe to pick up students there. Please pull up or around the corner.
