Zebra Mussels (Deissena polymorpha)
By : Cameron and Tyreek.
Zebra Mussels, are 25 cm when in adult stage, and are a mollusk. This mollusk also includes stripes on its shell.
This organism originates from Russia, and arrived in the USA from latching on to birds feet. It lives in the great lakes and many rivers. The Zebra mussel is a very large threat because, it clogs the flow of water through ducts.
Texas has created a means of wiping some of their population out. They have developed a bacterium known as Zequanox, which can kill zebra mussels and is safe to all other plant/animal life.
