The Linne Roar
March 7, 2019
Updates and Reminders
Progress Reports will be printed for distribution tomorrow. We will begin running the report tomorrow (Friday) at noon, so any additions or changes after 12:00 pm will not be reflected on the report.
REACH Professional Responsibilities (4b-4e) are required for most teachers this year. If you are in year two of your observation cycle (this means you received only a formal observation this year) or if you are a PAT, you are required to submit evidence for Domain 4. A few teachers have already completed this task and have received their ratings. Please let me know when you are ready for me to review your evidence and provide ratings. It will be one less thing for you to worry about in May or June when things become really crazy!
Thank you so much to everyone that has pitched in the last few days, covering classrooms that didn't have subs and making sure that teachers received coverage for indoor recess. I am beyond grateful for all of your help. A special shout out goes to Ms. Nixon. She is beyond amazing!
The Linne Luau-Annual Benefit and Silent Auction
The Friends of Carl Von Linne directly supports our Arts Programming at Linne. It would be amazing to see everyone on the 22nd. Why not organize a group of friends or family members? There are so many wonderful auction items this year. Let's try for 100% staff participation!
Uniforms
- Light blue polos, button down shirts, or blouses
- Dark blue pants, skirts, or jumpers (stretch pants are not allowed in grades 5-8)

Clerk's Corner
Are you working in an after school program? If yes, remember to check the after school sign-in book regularly. Sheets remain in the book for two weeks.
Please encourage your students' parents to sign up to volunteer. Direct them to our website and look under the tab for "Parents" where they will find a link to the application. Once they fill out the online application they will need to bring an ID to school for verification. Once processed they will receive a response in about 72 hours to a week. If they are confused about the level of volunteer, remind them that Level II should be selected. This enables them to volunteer in our building or on field trips for ten or less hours per week.
Please don't forget to check your swipes!!
Frontline( formerly Aesop) should be entered by staff when a sick day/ personal day or professional development day is being used. Again, all staff (with the exception of Security, hourly employees, and Parent Advocates) must enter their absence into Frontline. Remember to always inform administration of your absence.
Just Ask Jess
Greetings From Your Case Manager!
As you begin to prep for IAR Testing, please let me know if there are any students that I may have missed that are on your roosters. All diverse learner students should be removed as of now!!!!
MTSS ---- When thinking about students that you would like to refer for testing and possible services, please make sure of a few things before sending their names to me. We need to show that a student is struggling in said subject area. This needs to be reflected in their grades. A grade of a C is considered average, therefore this looks like there is no classroom needs at this time.
Also I have noticed that MTSS interventions are being put in grade book. YAY!!!!! With that being said, for students that you are referring there needs to be progress notes. We need AT LEAST six data points if not more from the intervention process. These points need to be percentage points with dates attached to them. Please let me know if you have any questions or if you as a grade level team would like to go through MTSS process again I would be more than happy to stop by. JUST ASK JESS :)
The Counselor's Couch
Murals
The GSA and Art students will be working to bring some color to the stairwells of the Annex building. Some stairwells will be decorated using a variation of the color spectrum and meaningful quotations the students have researched.
Paint will be wet on Thursdays from 8:15 to approximately 11ish - It dries quickly. Please exercise caution when walking in those portions of the hallway.
Also on Thursdays when passing in the basement (music room, art room,) please exercise caution in the basement hallways those murals are still not completed.
Artfully yours,
Art Helbig
