Our Starry Night Mural
As you know, we are learning all about the sun, moon and stars. The children worked together to create a night sky mural. The used pencils and pens to poke holes in black construction paper to illustrate how stars appear scattered in the night sky. We then hung our creations in the window - simply beautiful!
Marvelous Moon Artwork
We learned fascinating facts about the moon. We discovered the moon has craters, mountains and valleys. We also learned that the moon does not make its own light. We see the light reflected off of the moon from the sun. There is no wind on the moon. The moon has no atmosphere, so it doesn't have weather. Footprints on the moon left from astronauts could stay for millions of years!
Classroom Library
Thank you to Stacey Phillips for donating several plastic baskets to our classroom! I used the baskets to expand our categories of books in the classroom library. The children have enjoyed reading all kinds of books in our "book nook" :)
Letters to President Obama
We worked on writing letters to the President during our snow make up days. The students had some great questions for him and we are eager to hear back from President Obama!
